Today we painted a picture about the beach. I was excited because we were painting a pohutukawa tree,flowers and two boats that were upside down. First we drew the picture using a charcoal pencil then afterwards we had to use a sponge for the background but then we had to stipple for the picture. I chose red for the pohutukawa flowers, blue for the water, light green and dark green for the hills and brown for the tree. But when I was painting Samuel and Jonah made me laugh out loud!!!!. But if u saw the black paint it will look like wobbly jelly yuk yuk yuk even a black jelly bean!!!! i enjoyed painting the pohutukawa tree because it has nice flowers and the pohutukawa tree is called a Christmas tree.

Athena Guess who one of my favourite people in the whole world is? My cousin Athena. She has a tattoo at the back of her neck.
I love her in so many ways. She’s a girl I get along with most of the time. Sometimes when I have to clean up I answer back and say, “NO.” When she keeps telling me to hurry up I really get angry and I throw a tantrum. When she tells me to do the dishes in an angry voice I usually don’t do it.I love her cooking. I wish she was a chef in a restaurant. She’s a good cook and she can bake cakes, cup cakes and pancakes. When it is a family member’s birthday she will make a birthday cake for that persons. When I’m sick my mum sometimes ask my cousin if she can make some soup for me. I think she is a very special cousin. Thanks Athena.

A windy day
The Leaves sound like
boiling water.
The wind tries to snatch my book out of my hand like a tornado.
The wind is blowing girls’ hair
In the air as if they have been
electrocuted.
Branches are dancing to
The rhythm of the
wind.
The bird is gliding in
the wind like a kite.
The cold air on my skin
is giving me goose bumps.
Wind is blowing through the
trees like a speed boat.

When we flipped in the waka “Yay,” finally we were at the lake to train. I was burning like hot fire. We were training for nationals in January. It was a Sunday. We took turns because at Nationals we would have to do that too.
Some of us were so tired that we asked our coach Sam if we could flip the canoe because we were working so hard. We were so excited, we started jumping up and down as if we had ants in our pants. Suddenly we flipped the canoe, everyone leaned to the left of the ama. The Maori name for the ama is a kaiato. The ama slammed against the rough water. “Wow, what a fantastic feeling.” Afterwards me and my friend Julz had to flip the waka back to the way it was. I was so scared and was shivering to death because I had to stand on the other end of the kaiato. I kept slipping. It was so embarrassing. There were so many people watching. I felt like I was stuck in a freezer where people left me to die. Finally we flipped the canoe back again.
I felt so proud. I hope we can do this again. Practicing for Nationals is a lot more fun now.
